Hermes

An MCP server that gives Claude (and other LLM clients) ambient UK air quality data — live readings, historical trends, regulatory stats, WHO compliance checks, and a curated knowledge base — with deep coverage of London.

Air quality data your LLM can actually trust

Hermes is a Model Context Protocol server that gives Claude direct access to UK ambient monitoring data, properly contextualised. Try it via the chat — or connect it to Claude Desktop, Claude Code, or any MCP client.

Most LLMs given an air quality question either fabricate, paraphrase outdated training data, or call a generic weather API that conflates ambient monitoring with personal exposure. The difference between “47 µg/m³” and “an annual mean above the WHO 5 µg/m³ guideline” is the actual finding — a credible air quality answer needs a server that knows what it doesn’t know.

Hermes is built deliberately strict about scope. UK only — out-of-UK queries get a structured refusal rather than a hallucinated answer. Ambient monitoring data, not personal exposure (Clara handles that, and the two compose). Every reading is traceable to a specific monitor on a specific network, never just “the data shows”.

The fastest way to try it is the chat demo. For developer use, Hermes is published on the official MCP registry and reachable from Claude Desktop, Claude Code, or any MCP-compatible client at https://hermes.southlondonscientific.com/mcp.
